I’m part of the Capture Your 365 Blog Hop! I just discovered this fun new site two days ago. It looks like a great place for 365′ers to share and find encouragement.
If you’re hopping along sequentially you’ve come from Beth’s Our Typical Life and the next stop will be Christine’s Life or Something Like It. You can see the whole list of participants below my photos.

I have been practicing photography seriously. This is my third year doing a Project 365, but the first time that I have emphasized photography instead of scrapbooking. That’s part of the reason if you visit
my 365 gallery you will not find a photograph for every day, despite the name of the project. I have become critical of my photos. I mostly shoot on aperture priority or shutter priority, with occasional excursions into full manual, and I’m trying to be thoughtful about what happens with my photos, especially the ones I choose for Project 365.
For instance, when I took the photo of my daughter holding the fish at the science museum, I was thinking about the article I’d read that morning about focusing on eyes. Click on it to see it larger in my 365 gallery.

Another reason I don’t have a photo for every day in my gallery is that I occasionally do let days slip by without picking up my camera. <gasp> This has never bothered me. Long ago, when my focus was on scrapbooking a week’s worth of photos, it didn’t bother me because I always took a lot of pictures on other days to make up for any missing days. I also came up with substitutes, such as googling a book cover image to show what book I was reading that day.
Now it still doesn’t bother me to skip a day because even if I haven’t picked up my camera, I’m still thinking about photography every single day. I subscribe to photography newsletters and photographers’ blogs. I am a member of more than one photography forum, including a local photographers’ club. I have an excellent book about my camera that I refer to often,
Canon Rebel T1i: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Jeff Revell. I scrapbook digitally, too, which often involves post processing my photos. Photography is one of my passions. Even if I don’t touch my camera one day, you can be sure I did something related to photography. Slowly but surely my camera skills and my photographer’s eye are improving.

Nice job!! Love your photos.
Your photographs are lovely, I love the one with the garden hose in particular! I found it interesting reading about your switch of focus for your P365 from scrapbooking to photography. Thanks for sharing your photos!
Great shots! And welcome to CY365.
Love your photos, I can see you put in a lot of thought and intent. Love the one from the science museum the most
beautifully stated & beautiful photos. Although this is only my 2nd 365 year, I also see myself becoming MUCH more critical of what is a decent photo, and what I can try & take in the first place. I’m venturing more & more into full manual as well…
we have a lot in common, i have the same passions as you, and the same camera! loving you photos and looking forward to seeing more of them in the gallery at CY365.
So glad you found the CY365 site. Looking forward to getting to know you in the gallery. It’s so much fun!
Well that first photo melted my heart. Love it.
